It is a convenient and reliable tool that helps in timely detection and mitigation of methane leaks.Working principle: The laser methane detection handheld device utilizes the interaction between laser beams and methane gas for measurement. It emits laser beams, and when the beams pass through the air containing methane gas, some of the light is absorbed or scattered by methane. By measuring the changes in the intensity of absorbed or scattered light, the concentration of methane gas can be estimated.Portability: The laser methane detection handheld device is designed to be portable, allowing operators to move and use it in different locations. It usually consists of a handheld device with a compact structure that is easy to carry.High accuracy and sensitivity: The device offers high accuracy and sensitivity, enabling precise measurement of methane gas concentrations. It can detect very low levels of methane concentration and provides reliable measurement results.Real-time monitoring and data display: The laser methane detection handheld device can monitor methane gas concentrations in real-time and display the measurement results on its screen. Measured values are expressed as methane column density (ppm-m): methane concentration (ppm) x gas thickness (m).
(1) Calculation method: For example: the test environment contains methane gas with an average concentration of 100ppm, and the test distance is 3m, then the concentration value displayed by the device will be 300ppm-m, i.e. 100ppmx3m=300ppm-m.
(2) The same results may be obtained in different environments: When the concentration of methane gas is 100ppm and the linear thickness of methane is 1m and when the concentration of methane gas is 200ppm and the linear thickness of methane is 0.5m,100ppm-m is displayed.because 100ppmx1m=200ppmx0.5m=100ppm-m.(3) The test results do not reflect the specific location in the optical path where the gas to be measured is located. In the two cases shown below, the measured concentration values are 100ppm-m.Laser methane telemetry usage1) The reflective surface should not be chosen from transparent material surfaces such as glass and Plexiglas.
2) When testing highly reflective materials, avoid two laser beams (this will make the test error larger or even impossible to measure).(3) When using, avoid too large an irradiation angle, too large an irradiation angle will affect the response speed and accuracy of the measurement results. The response speed and accuracy of the test method in the figure below will be lower than the test method.
